A name rooted in history

Contemporary in spirit, but grounded in where we belong.

Bistro Fiset takes its name from Father Pierre Fiset, whose legacy is closely tied to the story of Chéticamp. After arriving in the village in the late 1800s, he played an important role in shaping the community, with ties to the old lobster cannery, local farming, and the island that carried the Fiset name forward.

For Bistro Fiset, the name is a quiet anchor. It gives the restaurant a strong sense of place. It speaks to what has always defined this coast: land and sea, work and gathering, arrival and return.
